Baking is relaxing to me. When I am feeling stressed, I whip up a batch of my grandmother’s chocolate chip cookies, and the world is right again. It may be the smell wafting through the kitchen or special memories with Mama that calm me, but even more, it is the thought of sharing the goodies with family and friends that brings joy.
I also like to bake cakes. Carrot is my specialty. I have baked and sold many over the years. Each time I fill an order or make one for a special meal, I find myself standing taller and puffing out my chest as as I present the three-layer, carrot and nut-laden treat! I know the cake will be delicious, so I love to receive feedback about how much people enjoy it.
