My, oh my! How Time Flies!

The picture on the left always makes me smile. Too $hort was 17 days old, the shortest in his litter, born with a corkscrew tail, and fussy about the temperature of his formula. Since that didn’t bother me, Tony put me in charge of his meals. Actually, I enjoyed feeding him. Keeping him satisfied helped me gain confidence in caring for the orphaned pup.

When I look at more recent photos (like the one above), I smile at the thought of the wonderful dog Too $hort is growing to be. If you didn’t know he had been orphaned at birth, you would not be able to tell anything by his size. He has overcome the disadvantages of not nursing on his mom and getting the colostrum that is critical to newborns.

People and pets have so much in common. Like Too $hort, there are people that have started life in the hole, or it happened somewhere along the way. And yet, they survived and thrived to live a life not predicted based on the circumstances that had been dealt. Their challenges, roadblocks and detours, pushed them forward. What a testimony! They are celebration-worthy!
