COVID-19 may be keeping you from Grandmother’s house this year, but it doesn’t mean you don’t have plans to travel with your dog.
Three weeks ago, Tony and I made a daytrip further south for a socially distant visit with family. Because we had only had Bruno for a week, we thought it would be a nice time to take him along for some bonding time. We were planning to be away for about eight to ten hours, so we needed to ensure we had ample supplies for an enjoyable trip.
After packing food, water, bowls, toys, pads, paper towels, hand sanitizer, poop bags and a leash, it felt like I was thrust into a 34-year time warp, packing a diaper bag! Tony prepared the air crate and secured it in the truck. We started early and allowed extra time for rest stops and play time, and had a great visit. Bruno was a model dog!
If you are planning a trip, make sure you do what you need to keep anxieties low for you and your dog. Most of all, have fun!
