In the mid 1970’s, Heinz had some cool commercials where people eagerly awaited the ketchup’s emergence from the bottle as Carly Simon sang the song “Anticipation” in the background. Heinz’s message was that they were so good, it would be worth the wait.
This commercial and the song kept running though my mind this evening as we await the birth of Millie’s second litter of puppies. We did not have her x-rayed, so the number of puppies will be a surprise. I am simultaneously nervous, excited and praying that everything go smoothly! I want Millie to have a nice birthing experience, and for her to bond with the puppies. You can do it , Millie! The song is playing in my head, and my heart believes it will be worth the wait.
It will also be nice to get the 101 Dalmatians clip out of my head as I exclaim, “The puppies are here! The puppies are here!” . . . Stay tuned!
