Popcorn as a Dog Treat?

All I can say is, “YES”!!! Think about the genius of this!

Today, I went to the grocery store to buy snacks for my grandsons’ visit. I called myself planning ahead, and picked up a variety of snacks and drinks. (Our time together will be short, so I do not want to waste time standing in line when we could already have the party started!) Among the stash was a bag of white cheddar popcorn. Once I got home, the temptation was too great, and I opened the bag for a “sample”. Iggy and J-Lo were near, and Tony suggested that I give them a piece to try. Since I was finished with my taste-test, I let each of them try a piece.

“Sniff, sniff! Lick. Sniff, lick, lick! Lick, chew, swallow!”

I can only imagine what they were thinking . . . “Yum!!! Mom! Why are we just tasting this? You’ve been holding out on us! This is popcorn, not Lays potato chips, but you couldn’t expect us to only want one piece!”

That’s when the lightbulb went off in my head! This is such an inexpensive training treat! It’s gluten-free, low calorie and cheap! After sharing a few more pieces, I was convinced. Try it. You, your dog and your wallet, will all be glad you did! Happy training and bone-appetit!

Gimme some! Actually, I want it all!
