Happy Thanksgiving

In 25 years, this is the first Thanksgiving that I have not spent with my mother sitting at my table. Although it was sad, I was able to experience her via Zoom – the COVID-busting technology that has allowed us to stay connected, socially distant, and safe. It was also the first time my brother and his family have “joined” us. I modified the menu a bit to account for the fewer number of “live attendees” and the special dishes they enjoy.

Rather than spending any time on what I didn’t have or get to experience today, I am focusing on gratefulness. I am grateful for my family, delicious food, shelter, health, our four-legged babies, technology, and God’s provision and salvation. I am thankful for friends, clothing, recipe books, kitchen appliances and indoor plumbing!

There are so many more things for which I am thankful. I would write them now, but it’s time to get my “yum” on!
