. . . may be wise, but it really throws a wrench in my daily productivity!
Ben Franklin’s proverb may be, “Early to bed and early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise”, but early to bed and early to rise, means this woman has to compromise!

I am not a “snooze button person”. What I am is a person that craves the quiet reward at the end of the day to write, gather my thoughts, evaluate my progress, meditate and medicate. For that daily bonus, I am willing to sacrifice sleep.
Each time I attempt to live around Tony’s work schedule, I inevitably miss a daily milestone and I’m left feeling frustrated. Getting up early, for me, gives me the opportunity to accomplish only the things that do not require brain function to complete. In other words, I can make Tony’s oatmeal, scroll social media, watch videos, and piddle (a lot). The downside is that it is hard for me to recover from the “screen time drug-ing” and my slow start.
I am the one that loves to jump from the bed and go into immediate motion, resting to refuel and recharge only as absolutely necessary. For me, routine is the mother of To Do List accomplishments! Before the sheets are cold, the bed is made and I am off to tackle my dog duties. Can that happen with early rising? Sure. It can, but not for me. There is something energizing about getting up, opening the blinds and greeting the sun, that breeds a successful start.
Those things just don’t happen for me at 5am, but I am no quitter! I am going to try again to use the morning quiet to be productive. If I can keep my balance, I will use the morning dark hours to walk on the treadmill. (My body and my doctor will thank me!) My sacred, evening dark hours will be even sweeter for the added health checkmark on my list!
Keep cheering for me!
