‘Tis the season to receive Christmas cards and letters, but they rarely read like this . . .

I love to receive mail – especially the kind that does not include a return envelope with the expectations of a “contribution” to pay for goods and services – so this is really a fun time of year! Each day, I check the mailbox, read and sort the mail by the shredder, setting aside the cards, and then sit down to read the Christmas goodies. The Christmas letters that provide a chronicle of the year’s activities for friends and families we love are a special treat.
I rarely send a Christmas letter, but if I did, this year’s would read something like this:
January – We bred one of our dogs by artificial insemination. February – We bought more kennel parts to multiply our capacity. March – Our bitch had a c-section and delivered a litter of five puppies. April – Our second bitch was bred naturally. May – The first litter, with the exception of one puppy, said goodbye and moved to their forever homes. June – The line-bred litter hit the ground and added three puppies to the fold. July – Two of the second litter of puppies went to their forever homes and we kept one for giggles (and anticipated breeding in 2021). August – We added two more igloo doghouses and more inside crates with grates. September – Our first “Oklahoma Girl” was added to our yard. October – The Okie Girl’s, litter-mate brother joined our family. November – We lost a litter of 5 puppies in a breeding partnership gone awry, but we remain thankful, grateful and blessed. December – The best way to end the year? . . . by adding another puppy, of course!
By the way – Tony and I are doing well, and yes, we are crazy about dogs! In fact, now that we’ve adjusted the buckles on our straight jackets, we are resting more comfortably as well!
Happy Holidays to you and yours!
